Cubicle Shooter v0.1 – Wii & Windows

I had intended to get more done before posting it but I’ve been very lazy lately so anyways here is the first demo of Cubicle Shooter for Wii.

Cubicle Shooter is a first person shooter with a focus on highly destructible environments.

It is very incomplete and is really just a tech demo right now. My plans for it are essentially the same as what I was planning for the original PS3 version but it is more of a remake then a port. Everything is being completely re written. There is also now a PC version.

Use the nunchuck analog stick to move, the wiimote cursor to turn, the A button to jump and the B button to shoot.

    1. Yeah I know. The way the collision detection is setup at the moment I couldn’t make the player any taller then they are wide. I’ll be changing it later.

  1. After a bit of tunneling it began to feel like minecraft! The ground is slightly fuzzy on the wii, is that some kind of blur effect?

  2. Hi ThatOtherDev, I liked Cubicle Shoother very much on the PS3 and I’m going to try it out on the Wii too. Sorry for the Off Topic: What’s better, in your opinion, between the Leaked PS3 SDK and PSL1GHT? I’m currently using PSL1GHT. Is the leaked SDK having a decent documentation? Is there any real advantage over PSL1GHT? Thanks

    1. I preferred using the leaked SDK mostly just because of PSGL. But it is my understanding that PSL1GHT also has some form of a OpenGL support. I think the leaked SDK had more examples and IMO better included documentation I expect better documentation will be written for PSL1GHT eventually.

I haven’t really used PSL1GHT enough to say which is better right now. But I recommend that you continue using PSL1GHT. It is what the rest of the homebrew community is using now and even if it does have shortcomings it will undoubtedly improve over time.

      1. Thanks. I’ll stick with PSL1GHT, but I would also like to give the leaked SDK a try. Could you please send me some examples from the leaked one in order to get an idea before I download GBs of data?

        1. Everything I’ve made for PS3 (with the exception of Goodby World) has been made with the leaked SDK and the source code is available for pretty much all of them.
