UFO Racer v3.3 – Wii & PS3

This update adds a track editor, a title/menu screen, accurate collision detection with the environment and the option to reset the best time (since you may be racing on custom tracks that are longer than the one you set the record with).

In the editor you use the directional pad to move around and press the 1 and 2 buttons (on Wii) or X and O buttons (on PS3) to change the type and rotation of the selected tile. Pressing Plus or Minus (on Wii) or Start (on PS3) will save the track and return you to the main menu.

When I get the time I’ll be fixing up the UI and probably editing the track tile meshes so that you don’t get completely stopped when you drive into their ridges. I’m also planning to add online scoreboards and track sharing to the Wii version.

  1. Fantastic game TOD, really enjoyable! There were a few things I’d love to see added:

    1st : Sixaxis compatibility
2nd : Vertical “corners” to add another dimension (could really add to 1st request if it’s possible)
3rd : More vehicles, it’s a rock solid game as is, but a motorbike would kick ass! 😀

    Top notch work as always!

You didn’t actually even read the page that I posted a link to did you?

“You can use DevkitPro to develop applications. Tutorials for setting up DevkitPro are available for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.”

Obviously DevkitPro would be useful so you should go get that.

      “There are various Tutorials available.”

Tutorials are useful. You should check those out.

Do I really need to write a tutorial on how to follow tutorials?

  2. Can you tell me how to create apps/games for hbc in an easier way cause i dont under stand or create a video then post it then give me the link please?¿?¿

    1. install devkitPro

open up C:devkitProexampleswiigraphicsgxtriangletriangle.pnproj or any of the other wii examples with Programmers Notepad (which comes with devkitPro)

click Tools and then make (or press Alt+1) to compile the example

copy the newly compiled dol file to your SD card and make a meta and icon file for it like every other homebrew program has

test it by running it on your Wii

read the examples source code and make changes to it to try and make it do different things well frequently testing to see what works and what doesn’t

repeat infinitely and learn how to program
